A person who spiked candy with sedative and gave them to youngsters at a summer program in Leicestershire has admitted sexual offenses against two children who were nine and ten years old.
The defendant was taken into custody after eight children and a grown-up experienced illness at the facility in July.
The senior citizen, from that region, admitted guilt to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the courthouse on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was against a nine-year-old child.
The defendant was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on November 28th.
The prosecutor, prosecuting, detailed the criminal behavior to the judicial body.
She stated his targets were disadvantaged youngsters who were attending a youth camp which he ran.
Ruben played a "sweet game" with the minors, the prosecutor said, in which he would access the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and tell them to ingest treats "rapidly".
She informed the proceedings the defendant had played this game with the boys "repeatedly", and minors had earlier experienced illness the next day.
She said Ruben had been capable of justifying this over a long period as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his family member had suspicions in recently.
The prosecutor continued: "This year his stepson had concerns about the situation, justifiably.
"They chose" to have a look in the defendant's belongings."
Mrs Prior KC said materials including baby oil, petroleum jelly and syringes were discovered, and his stepchild notified the law enforcement about his concerns.
She said the defendant proceeded to engage in the "candy game" with six youngsters that evening - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.
"Authorities" had not arrived by that stage," she stated further.
The police watchdog, the investigative body, earlier informed that it was investigating Leicestershire Police's handling of the incident.
Mrs Prior explained the minors were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so the family member contacted the authorities a second time.
She explained the defendant then played the "candy game" in a room of five youngsters.
