Large-scale Russian Assaults Eliminate Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
